Occupy Music Workshop

Yesterday I was involved in a really exciting music workshop for children aged 12-18, the workshop was organised by Occupy and the space was provided by House of Fairytales HQ. The children took part in writing a song, producing , publicisingand creating the art work for its. Kate Nash lead the song writing workshop and Sam Duckworth from Get Cape Wear Cape Fly lead the production of the song, the publicising group worked with london evening standard and NME who came to do interviews and photographs. I was leading the album art workshop with artist Siobhan Malhotra where we taught the children to use lino printing for the cover.

Ephebiphobia - fear of teenagers. Everybody at the workshop gets to take home an original lino print for the cover with the produced cd by the end of the week when all editing is finalised by Sam!

Had to ask for a photo! Kate was wearing amazingly tall heels so really she probably is my height!

Handed it in this morning! Although my work does not stop here with Angela Carter, its been quite a test for working professionally, lesson learnt is to be more organised and learn to develop drawings not just produce or spend too long sketching new ideas.

Gloop

Last weekend I helped out for The House Of Fairytales with their halloween activity based event at the Whitechapel gallery. A few of us from camberwell volunteered to help runactivities and my role was to help children make gloop! A very sticky un sticky flubber like material that stretches and wobbles and looks gross.

All of us volunteers had to dress up in boiler suits and wear coloured furry beards as we were 'Art'cheologists from the 16th dimension that look for those very particular 'metaphysical tunnels' to transport us through dimensions and time that are found in art works.

The gloop is a physical substance to describe these metaphysical tunnels and to acheive the art of gloop is two substances one gluey and one not so gluey and the only way for them to combine is to get your hands messy.
